Time to go Shopping!

All looked great this morning at our ultrasound, though I thought Violetta had a very blob like appearance in the photos we were given. I promise to open up my new scanner this week and get photos posted. We also met with our RE who officially released us to the OB. I'll call to make that appointment later today!! She also said, "All right, after you have the baby, breast feed as long as you want, and then I want you to come right back here so we can get going again...if you want another one. Do not wait three or four years." Sheesh. Can I bring the first one safely into the world before I think about the second one. I'm having a hard enough time wrapping my mind around all of this to begin with. But, as I said, when all worked out well today, I'm planning to spend a little time online tonight looking for some maternity jeans. So ladies, where are your favorite places to shop? Thoughts on full panels vs demi panels? Are belly bands worth it?

  1. So happy that your ultrasound looked great! I have heard wonderful things about the belly bands. All my pregnant friends rave about them.

  2. Belly bands work great -- especially in the beginning when you don't quite need maternity pants -- after that I go demi all the way, the full panel is cumbersome.

  3. Our RE pretty much told us the same thing- it was slightly overwhelming to be 9.5 weeks pregnant and already talking about another pregnancy! As for maternity things, I'm not a huge fan of the Bella band, but then again I have two beasts growing in there, so things changed pretty quickly. As for jeans I've really liked my old navy trouser jeans- they just have a Demi panel, for me I think their days may be numbered but I'm guessing with one babe they would last awhile. I also bought a pair of full panel, but those are just now starting to fit well at 15weeks with twins. I've bought several things from motherhood, old navy, gap and an item or two at JC penny. -- hope that helps! Congrats on graduation day!!

  4. Happy Graduation Day! I use my belly bands some days but the get tight on me by the end of the day. I would rather just go unzipped with a long shirt covering. I hope to soom be in maternaty pants!

  5. My FS said the asme thing!! I only have two pairs of maternity jeans because it has been summer I haven't really worn them. They have a full panel which is hot in summer but should be ok in winter!

  9. YEA!!!!!!! oh and skip the belly band. Yes it is okay in the beginning but you will need the pants soon anyways so just dive in. Once you go with them, ou will never go back...I swear! To not have to unbutton pants...who would known it was so great!
I one a couple of each and they each have pros and cons. The demi sorta pushed the chub up so if you have something relatively tight on, you can see a line where it ends. I also was told the full is more comfortable when the belly is big bc it gives it more support. xxoxoxo

  10. Happy graduation day! Have fun shopping. It took me at least 7 hours yesterday to place an order for my first pants. Part of it was working up the courage to hit checkout, it felt so official.

  11. Congratulations on a wonderful ultrasound!!! I prefer the full panels because they give more support. Have fun shopping! Can't wait to see what you get! :) And good look with transferring over to your OB!

  12. I wore elastic waste/ drawstring pants rather than maternity pants or belly bands for most of my pregnancy in both cases. Because of my myomectomy, the belly bands of most maternity pants were very uncomfortable.

I can't believe your RE is jumping on baby #2 already. Then again, my first pregnancy was twins so my RE probably figured I would smack him if he suggested I come back in a year ;)

  14. I love my Gap maternity jeans with a Demi panel. The full panel is really only comfortable in your 3rd tri. Old Navy has jeans that are ok, Gap is more stylish. My baby didn't stop looking blob like until our 12 week US! So glad everything is looking good! Skip the Bella band. Maternity jeans are way more comfortable!

  15. Congrats on graduating!

As far as the pants go- I wore the demi for the first trimester but as my belly grew, I needed the full panel as the demi band would cut into my belly:) I couldn't "support" the full panel during my first trimester as I wasn't gaining weight. I got 2 pairs of jeans at Motherhood and love them (full panel). As for the belly band... yes, I love mine. My mom got it for me in the first trimester which I used as well. In fact, I am 27 weeks and wore it today as I don't have a lot of work pants (maternity). I think to each it's own on the type of maternity ware. I also think it matters what size you are when you get prego:) I was a 16 and I wear and XL in maternity clothes.

  16. SOOOO EXCITING!!! Can't wait to hear more and see those beautiful scans!!

I went full panel for the jeans, but my capris denim and otherwise were low, under the belly kind. I wore the belly band with the lower waisted stuff. It help hold it up and I felt like I was getting support. I bought old navy jeans and motherhood jeans. Make sure you try them on. I was a 16 when I got pregnant and one pair of jeans was XL and one is L. It depends on the cut of the jeans...enjoy and have fun shopping...although I agree with Chickenpig, the elastic waisted yoga type pants were the best. Landsend Starfish pants are AWESOME!!! I didn't have them while I was pregnant, but had an older version. Got them for Christmas and LOVE LOVE Love them!

Check the clearance racks and gap/oldnavy clearance on websites...i bought a ton of stuff super cheap that way!!

    Have fun shopping!

  17. YAYAYAY!!!

The belly band was a lifesaver for me -- not just for holding up older pants that were too small but also for holding up maternity pants where the panel was a bit too big for early pregnancy.

Personally, I'm all about the full panel. After about 15 weeks, the demi panels started hurting where they were pressing in on my stomach. So much so that I've stopped wearing any of the pants I had that were demi panels.

The jeans I like the best are Liz Lange from Target. The panel was a big loose at first, but I really like that they didn't come in just S, M, and L as the Motherhood one do. And, they're not randomly tight in the thighs for no reason. I've gotten a few things from Old Navy on-line and they've been great, too.
