Ten!

Double digits my little man, double digits! I can hardly believe it. You continue to do new and amazing things every day. Today, for your ten month birthday, you celebrated by standing up several times without holding on to anything. You even raised your arms above your head and threw your favorite new ball at Daddy. It won't be long until you are walking, I'm sure.

Speaking of walking, you have been a walking machine lately. You love to walk around the house holding on to our hands. One day, when I tried to take you out for a walk in the stroller, I put the break on only one wheel. You pulled up on the back of the stroller and started to push it around in circles. I went with it, took of the break, and off we went, with both of us pushing the stroller. We walked a whole fours houses down the street! Since that day, we have taken several walks out in front of the house in the evenings. You are getting to know the neighborhood kids, who are often out at that time of day, and I can tell you can't wait to be running right along with them.

We got to spend some time with my side of the family this month. Your Uncle W, Aunt R, Lady C and G came home to visit from England. We all gathered at a beautiful house in the Hudson River Valley for a few days. Your Granny's brother and sister, and a bunch of my cousins were able to join us for a few days as well. We all had a blast, reliving the days of old, and watching you play with your cousins. G and you were instant buddies. One afternoon, you spent a long time examining the detergent holder in the door of the dishwasher together. It was too sweet for words.

We also took your first trip to the beach this month. We decided that your first time should be close to home at a local lake. You enjoyed sitting at the edge of the water and had a great time mushing the sand through your fingers. Thankfully, you didn't try to eat too much of it!

You discovered your tongue this month, for just one day it seems. You stuck it out over and over for a few minutes one night, testing what you could do with it, but haven't really done it since. Maybe because you've gotten too busy with trying to walk.

You're also starting to figure out how to climb. You actually climbed up one set of stairs just last night, with me right behind you the whole way of course. At least, in our split level house, a set of stairs in only a half a flight.

This month, you have become much more interested in food. We can't eat in front of you without offering you something of your own to chew on. We're trying to add more and more finger foods to your repertoire. You can down a whole banana in just a few minutes. Strawberries and blueberries are a favorite as well. And this week, you discovered plums. Your two top front teeth finally came in, so you don't have a little vampire grin. And just this week, I noticed two more teeth on the bottom just poking through. We didn't even realize you were teething! You now have a total of eight teeth, and they really are beginning to make you look like a little boy.

Oh, my baby, that's what you are becoming. A little boy. Right before my very eyes! And I am loving every second of watching it happen.
