Nine Weeks

Well Violetta, here we are again, another week into this pregnancy. This was a big week. We had another ultrasound on Monday. It was really exciting to see you again, although it went by much too quickly. I don't think you look like much of anything yet, but I hope you are getting comfy in there! The big excitement after the ultrasound was our last meeting with our RE, the doctor who helped us create you. She sent us on our way to the regular OB and told us to hurry back as soon as we were ready for you to have a sibling.

On a related note, I'm not sure we've told you yet that both of your uncles are having new babies this June, so you will have two cousins who are only a few months older than you. This Christmas is going to be a lot of fun for sure! Aside from that, we got more exciting news this week that Dad's cousin is also expecting only a few weeks before you are due to arrive. It does seem that the year of the dragon is lucky!

We made some progress in your room last weekend. But then, we messed it all up again. I am working on painting this dressing table that belonged to your great-grandmother to use in my room. It means a lot to me to have a few of her things. Since your room was all nice and empty, we have a little bit of time before we have to fill it, and it's not quite nice enough outside yet for this project, we took advantage of the extra space. Someday, maybe I will pass this table on to you!

After we saw you on Monday, I decided it was time to order some maternity jeans so I would have a few thing that were more comfortable to wear. They arrived on Thursday night, and I got to wear a pair to work on Friday. Let me just say, where have they been all of my life?

So my sweet baby, at nine weeks, you are the size of an olive or a grape, both of which I love, but not together! And apparently, your home in my belly is the size of a grapefruit. What do you think? Can you see it through my new jeans?

PS: I created a page with all the ultrasounds, etc to this point since I finally scanned them all in, but didn't feel like going back to put them in to posts that made sense.

PPS: I have really awesome bloggy friends. I love you all!
