This week, my little Luigi, was all about how awesome your Daddy is. We celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary on Thursday, May 31. The night before, I had a bit of a hormonally induced emotional breakdown. This is bound to happen to a pregnant woman on occasion. Your Daddy was awesome, and set aside his work on the deck for the night to let me talk it out. I felt a lot better after I did. This is a good lesson for you to learn, little one. It's better to let your emotions out so you can move beyond them.
The morning of our anniversary, I got up and took my shower. When I headed into the office, which is where I watch some TV while I get ready for the day, I was greeted by a card, and a battery operated fan/water spray bottle. Just the weekend before, when it was so hot out side, I had mentioned that I would need a personal fan to make it through the summer. Daddy did even better with the spray bottle feature. I'm sure it will help me stay nice and cool in the depths of August! The card was also just about the most perfect card I could have imagined, and actually addressed some of the things I had been venting about the night before, including the fact that I think sometimes we watch too much television (something we are going to try hard not to do with you, we'll see how it goes!). It was like he must have written the card himself.
And, my little banana / carrot / cantaloupe, he didn't stop there. About an hour after I made it to my desk at work, the receptionist called to tell me that I had a package at the front desk. It was a beautiful arrangement of flowers that really brightened my day...with lots of purple blooms, of course!
That night, we went out for a quick, simple Mexican dinner. We had planned a nicer dinner at an Italian restaurant in Providence (known for it's Italian) for Saturday night. That night, at dinner, we talked about starting traditions for our family once you get here. Our anniversary is always right around Memorial Day, so Daddy brought up the idea of starting to rent a lake house every year for that weekend for a little family getaway. It's really fun to think about all the great family times we will have together soon, Luigi.
On Saturday, Daddy got up before I did, and brought me coffee and waffles in bed. He really pulled out all the stops this year! On our way to Providence, for our traditional Italian dinner, which pays homage to the fact that our honeymoon was in Italy, we did some shopping and settled on a crib for you. We talked a lot about how your room is going to come together, and I am getting really excited about our plan. I can't wait to start executing it. It's going to be a busy and exciting four months to finish preparing for your arrival!
* Yeah, I know, totally lame. Only weekly updates, and I don't even have the photos to go with them. But they are on the camera, I swear!

Congratulations on your anniversary! It sounds like you had the perfect time. What a sweet hubby your have! We is going to be an awesomd Daddy.
