Hello my little spaghetti squash! This past week, we made a some more progress preparing for your arrival. The crib we selected for you arrived already, as well as the bright green blackout curtains that will make your room nice and dark for nap time. They turned out to be the perfect green to match the bedding we picked for you. When we were shopping last weekend, we also bought a new dresser for me, We're going to take my old chest of drawers and paint it to go in your room, I'm really excited about how your room is starting to come together. Now, I just need to buy the paint and get busy 'cause I have a lot of work to do!
This weekend, we got a glimpse into what life will be like once you are here. Daddy and I headed down to Mystic, CT to meet up with my college roommates, L & C, their husbands N & D, and their kids, Q, R & S. R is nearly 6, and his sister Q is 2.5. S, a little bundle of personality who was adopted from Korea 3 years ago by C & D, will be 4 this summer "on [his] birthday!" We had a great time wandering around the shopping plaza and aquarium, followed by a lobster dinner down by the water. I think Daddy was a little bit overwhelmed with all the energy circling around throughout the day, but I know we will quickly get used to whatever energy level you bring to our family.
I think I may have opened a little can of worms for C & D when S was sitting my lap and I asked him to be careful of the baby in my belly. He asked to see you and when I told him that wasn't possible yet, he asked to see a picture. Luckily, I had a few images from your most recent photo shoot on my phone which I was able to show him throughout the day when he asked. C told me the next day that S asked if "the baby in Miss Jen's belly is ready to pop out yet?" She told him it would be a while yet. His response "Oh, he's still too raw." He's a smart kid, because, Luigi, you do indeed have some more cooking to do!
Oh, and I almost forgot to tell you. Daddy bought his first gift to you while we were shopping around in Mystic. He found a carved wooden pick-up truck. He's hoping you will like trucks as much as he does!
Tonight, you and I are heading to Chicago to attend the big national contract furniture contract furniture trade show. I think this will be our last big plane trip before you arrive. Thank goodness!
*Yes, it's Wednesday, and I'm back from the trip. I survived two days on my feet at 5 months pregnant! Although, I took today off and spent the whole day on the couch with my feet up! Pictures are up for weeks 20 and 21 as well as 22, because I know you all have so much time to go backwards and track the progress of my bump!

looking good girl!

ReplyDeleteI'm still jealous of your plain white wall to take your piccies ;-)
Glad to see that things are going well.
ReplyDeleteThe thing with S made me laugh. I love when kids say stuff like that. I love your bump! So pretty.
