Hello all. I've noticed that many people have been complaining lately about having difficulty commenting on blogs. I have two thoughts:
1. Join Miss Conception in putting a stop to word verification. This is that annoying code you have to type in before you comment can be posted. Go to the comments tab in your settings and turn off this feature. I did it a year ago when she suggested it then, and have yet to receive a spam comment.
2. Try a different browser. I have found that every single time I've had trouble commenting it has been when I'm using Explorer. I use Safari at home and never have an issue. When I switched to Google Chrome at work, I have never had another problem. My guess is, this is intentional on the part of Microsoft as a way to mess with Google. Just sayin'. (I happen to think Microsoft is the devil!)
That is all.
I too dropped from my blog the word verification. Until today I didn't have much issue with the words using firefox but now...ugh!
ReplyDeleteI've also had this problem at work, though ironically while using Firefox (my preferred browser) and I have no problem with Internet Explorer (which I loathe.) I just shut off my comment moderation because you're right, I never get spam. I might have to try downloading Chrome at work. Thanks for the tips!
ReplyDeleteUgh word verification!!
ReplyDeleteYes I noticed that now there are TWO words to type. How annoying! I will remove the comment requirement from my blog.
ReplyDeleteword.
ReplyDeleteLove this post and I also hate (pretty strong word, I know) the captcha word verification stuff. Add "awaiting approval" on top of that and I just don't get it. No having to type in verification on my blog. And if I do ever start getting spam or yucky comments, I'll just put them to approval first for a while.
ReplyDeleteI rarely, if ever, have issues with Firefox (only browser at home). The times I have had issues is when I don't log out of Google services each time. I log out, log back in and all is fine.
