Last night, and this afternoon, I set about making a bunch of bracelets. Back in January, there was this "Pay it Forward" thing going on on face.book, which I volunteered to do. Basically, you had to be one of the first five people to comment on someone who was doing it, and then agree to do it yourself. And what is it that I have to do? Make something handmade/homemade for five people sometime in 2011. Well, here it is, almost October, and I really wanted to get this done before holiday madness takes over. It seemed like the perfect bed rest activity. I also had found these cute little tins when we were in P-town, and I thought they would make perfect packaging for the bracelets.
And, because I had so much fun making bracelets, I decided that it was a good opportunity to have my very first giveaway.
That's right girls, in addition to the five bracelets I made for my face.book friends, I made one for one of my lucky followers!
| This lovely sparkly blue bracelet is the one that's up for grabs! |
Here's how to enter:
1. Be a follower. (because I want to thank my faithful readers)
2. Leave me a comment and tell me what creative things you have done to distract yourself during a two week wait.
It's that simple. I'll be accepting entries until the end of Tuesday, October 4 (just because that's my half-birthday, and I think half-birthdays are cool!) I'll use Random.org to select the winner, and then I'll be in touch for your contact info so I can send you your prize.
obviously I am a follower of your blog :)
ReplyDeleteAs for craftiness....I make cards and learned to sew :)
Hi :) I'm a new follower of your blog and am wishing you the best for your cycle!! During my last IVF cycle I didn't do anything crafty because I was in so much pain from hyperstimming! But, I love to crochet baby blankets and that's what I'm planning to do during my 2ww during my Oct IVF!! Love the bracelets...so pretty!
ReplyDeleteohhhh nice give away and good combination for the challenge!
ReplyDeleteThis last two weeks I have made some new cushion covers (post up tonight) and joined pinterest to start getting my creative juices flowing my seeing what true creatives are doing!
Been a follower for a while! I did a lot of knitting and crocheting during my IVF TWW. I just bought a sewing machine, so my new crafty distraction is going to be making blankets and hopefully, eventually bedding for our children!
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog :) I love to knit, so I knit during the 2ww most of the time. I started one of the twins baby blankets during a 2ww. I knit an adorable baby hat during one cycle in a sage green yarn that I inherited from my Grandmother, my way of feeling like my Grandma was still there and supporting me.
ReplyDeleteOf course I'm a follower! But I'm just not that crafty (oh how I wish I was) I spent all of my waiting watching reality TV :)
ReplyDeleteTotally a follower!!!!
ReplyDeleteI knit, as you know from my blog, and although it keeps me partially distracted I've now found that I can do many other things while knitting. I'm a pro at knitting and reading blogs!!!
I'd double-follow you if it was possible!
ReplyDeleteAs for crafty things I've done to distract myself... Well, more manual type labor worked better for me. About as crafty as I got was browsing Pinterest!
I'm a follower...obviously! I usually scrapbook during my 2ww. Although last year during my 2ww in October I painted pumpkins and it was super fun!
