Aside from learning your gender, our ultrasound appointment was amazing. You were just uncooperative enough to keep us there for an entire hour. We got to watch you waving your little arms and kicking your little legs. At one point, you seemed to get really mad about being poked so much and you started boxing with the probe, and flailing your legs. I can't deny, it made your dad a little nervous! The one thing you wouldn't do was roll over onto your tummy. I wonder if this is a sign of how you will take to tummy time. In any case, this meant they were not able to get the direct shot of your spine that they wanted, and I
The next best part of the week was telling both of your grandmothers that you are a boy. My mom, your Granny, came to visit for the weekend. We made her wait all the way until 9 o'clock at night when Daddy got home from a business dinner, to surprise her with the news. I had to get through 4 hours with her with her baiting me to see if I would slip up and tell her. But in the end, it was the helium balloon that said "New Little Prince" that came floating out of the box she opened that revealed the news. She squealed with delight, as I new she would and said life can't get any better with two grandsons on the way this year. I video taped the whole thing so I could send it to your Uncle W and Aunt R as a way to tell them the news.
The next night, we went to meet Daddy's mom (I'm not yet sure what you'll be calling her) at the home improvement store where she sells kitchens. We brought her an identical box and balloon which she opened in front of her coworkers and immediately burst into tears. You'll learn, she's a crier! She proudly carried her balloon through the store as we headed out to dinner.
On Sunday, Daddy told his Grampa L that you are a boy, and he was very excited to have someone to carry on the family name.
That's about it for this week, little Luigi. I can't wait to see you again on Friday. In the meantime, I am bound and determined to figure out how to incorporate my favorite color purple into your life in a non-girly way. You would be surprised how limiting the available color palettes for little boys tend to be, and I don't want to place any limitations on you, beginning with your taste in color!
* 17 and 18 week pictures are finally up too!

Jen love you are glowing this week!
ReplyDeleteSounds like things are going very well. You look awesome too! I am dying to see pictures of the nursery. You do such a wonderful job decorating. My son had a little purple golf shirt for Easter and he looked darling in it. You will have to get Luigi one.
ReplyDeleteCant wait to see how you incorporate the purple. I bet it will be really cool! Looking great!
ReplyDeleteLooking good! I don't know what the sex of this babe is but I'm getting a purple stroller REGARDLESS! If baby is a boy he's just going to have to accept that mommy likes purple =)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea for the gender reveal! I might have to steal it. :) How about a deep royal purple for the little prince? :-D
ReplyDeleteI love that you did the balloon reveal. It's so fun! You also seemed to have grown! Look at that belly! I am sad that I didn't take any belly pics after 16 weeks for M&A, so keep em' coming.
ReplyDeleteI loved hearing about the reveal! You look so great!
ReplyDeleteTo combine the animals and purple = hippos!!
ReplyDeleteYou look great and your happiness definitely shows!
