Well, here I am, it's finally the week before the deadline. Or of the deadline, depending on how you look at it. Drawings are due to our local architect next Monday morning. Which means I need to be done sometime on Friday because I have a very busy weekend planned, and not with work! Needless to say, after a very intense 10.5 hour non-stop cranking day at my desk, I am quite tired.
This post might ramble on somewhat. So, before I veer off on a tangent, I just want to thank you all for the encouraging comments on my last couple of posts. It's no secret that I'm having a tough time right now. Life feels like a bit of a perfect storm of sorts. Knowing you are all out there to listen, and offer support definitely helps me to make it through the tough days. And, sorry in advance if I'm a slacker commenter right now!
In any case, after having nothing in me on last Thursday, we had a very busy, nice, yet frustrating weekend. We went to dinner with friends on Friday night, to see their house which I had offered some decorating advice. Saturday, we had our whole gang over for a bbq. It was really fun to finally entertain in our yard. But, it was a lot of work to get it ready! All those weeds I dug up a few weeks ago came back, so I learned how to weed wack. We also had to get the house cleaned up. In the end, roasting marshmallows over a fire and swinging in the hammock with a yard full of friends made it all worth it.
Unfortunately, stress is getting the best of us these days, and we spent much of the morning and afternoon fighting. And we never fight. But, we managed to table our issues and still got in some hammock time before our guests arrived.
Yesterday was much better in terms of our spirits. We spent some time on bills in the morning (never fun!) And then had time for a lovely bike ride on the Charles River, through Cambridge and Boston. It was my first bike ride of the summer...and probably last! I can't imagine feeling comfortable once the stims start in less than two weeks. And, we all know cycling isn't the best for the swimmers. So I can't be letting Hubby get on a bike for great lengths of time in the next few weeks.
So, anyway, I mostly enjoyed my weekend. And now, it's the crunch to the end of the week. I'm not even going to attempt to do anything productive. Just get to work, and try not to eat junk. That's all I can ask.
Yeah, totally rambling, not even sure what I wanted to say.
Thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby and I rarely argue, but having a family party usually gets us snarling at each other. I like the idea of getting hammock time in before company arrives to calm the waters.
Hopefully getting this huge project out of the way will help alleviate the weight on your shoulders. Not long to go now!
ReplyDeleteWith your crazy schedule, getting in fights is almost inevitable in my opinion! I'm glad you were able to work it out before your guests came..that sounds like such a nice night!
Hang in there...thinking of you!
Hang in there- it will all be over soon! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThere are only 24 hours each day, there's only so much you can do and still sleep. Hopefully you can get all your work done before that deadline.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your sweet comments on my blog the other day. I took them to heart, and I decided to continue, but with a new URL. I hope you'll continue to read. Thanks again. Truly.
