OK, first a quick update. My OB/GYN's office is actually in a hospital. The woman who passed out was somewhere in her 60s. I asked Dr. S what happened, and she said she didn't know. The crash team showed up, and she went back to her business because she'd had to do an emergency C-section that morning, which had put her an hour behind schedule just to start the day. It's amazing my appointment only ended up being about 30 minutes late. She said the woman was breathing, but was very foggy, and when an older person falls like that, they have to wonder about a stroke. I guess I will never know. My colposcopy was completely uneventful. Less annoying than a pap smear. She didn't need to take a biopsy, and didn't schedule me for a follow up because she's hoping I'll be back pregnant before I would need it. (Sounds familiar, I think she said the same thing last year, but who's counting). She was really excited that I'm doing IVF soon.
So, now, for a random little story about my afternoon. I am starting on a new project next week at work. I'm looking forward to it because it's a client I've worked with before, and with an architect who I love (K). We work great together. She's a great advocate for me in the office as well. There is another woman on the project (L) who I have never worked with, and barely see. She and I were in a staffing meeting together yesterday to sort out my involvement on the new project. She was seated at the table when I entered the room. This afternoon, I was heading up stairs, and who did I pass on the stairs, but L, and her approximately 6 month pregnant belly. Nice. It just figures, right? It's was all I could do to keep from breaking out into a hysterical fit of laughter. Clearly, I had not seen her bump the day before.
The funny thing is last year, just starting out on a new project with K, for the same exact client, I showed up to a meeting to find that the other architect on the project was also sporting a pregnant belly which I had not known about. It's like deja vu. Totally bizarre. I guess I can only hope that eventually some of this rubs off on me, right?
I'm still completely jet lagged, and not getting anything done around the house, but I'm trying to be patient with myself. There is no rush. The house and the laundry can wait until the weekend. I'm hoping to start sorting through the photos tonight, maybe unload and reload the dishwasher, and that's about it!
Grab a glass of whatever water they've been drinking.
ReplyDeleteHope your jet lag passes quickly.
Crazy about the client/architects pregnancy connection... Definitely hope it rubs off on you! I've tried doing all the things at work that the co-workers were doing when they got PG, but hasn't worked for me. Maybe there is some component we are missing?
ReplyDeleteHope you got some rest and you are the next designer with the bump:]
ReplyDeleteGlad the colpscopy went smoothly :) Hoping time flies and soon we'll have the baby bumps!
