Yesterday was my 36th birthday. Instead of talking about all the ways it is freaking me out (because you all already know!) I'll tell you about how awesome it was.

I'm on vacation. In London. Do I really need to say more?

Ok. I will.

On Sunday, we wandered around with my family. Then sil took me to a salon for some pampering to get my hair done. (an hour with the curling iron and my hair was still stick straight but it's still fun to be pampered!). Then we all (minus Lady C) went for a drink. Later, little bro treated for dinner. On my actual bday, hubby and I took a long walk through the city, Hyde Park to Harrods, had some lunch, wandered the V&A museum, came back to freshen up, then went for dinner in this quirky little Italian restaurant where half the tables are bunked above the other tables, so it's sort of like eating in a tree house. Very cool. Another stop at a pub, then home to find little bro had bought me a cake!

Oh, and it didn't rain. My birthday is notorious for bad weather. There was a snow storm the day I was born.

It was an incredible day, despite my slightly emotional state. It's really special to be with family. I'm also overwhelmed at the amount of wishes I received this year on Facebook. As superficial as some of those relationships are, a lot of people took the ten seconds out of their day to send wishes. And today, that means a lot.
