Acupuncture

I liked it!

I wasn't sure if it would appeal to me, but I've been intrigued for awhile, and when I discovered that there is a Mind/Body Wellness Center as part of an IVF clinic literally 8 minutes from my house, it seemed like a no brainer to give it a try.

I had my first appointment this morning. Aside from the fact that the check in process was a little bit convoluted, which got had me running about 20 min late (simply because they didn't call me to the desk to pay until I decided to ask it it was normal that it should take so long), the appointment was great. I barely felt a thing, and achieved a highly relaxed state

The therapist recommended I come once a week, but not again until my period starts, or she will have to treat as if I'm pregnant. (not gonna be the case, but that's ok). I should be able to go again next weekend. I'm glad they have weekend hours, seeing as how I didn't make it to work until almost noon today. Good thing I have a lot of PTO saved up!

It was interesting today, to be at this IVF clinic, which is a freestanding facility. It felt much different than my clinic, which is in a hospital, and the office also hosts the MIGS (minimally invasive gyno surgey) dept. My place feels like a hospital, which I am completely fine with...it's a satelite of one of the best in Boston. I find it hard to argue against that. The clinic with the wellness center felt like a business. I'm in interior design, so I observe spaces, and this was designed. Yellow and gray striped carpet, pink, orange and purple chairs. Very clean and modern, and feminine. which makes me feel a little sorry for the guys who have to do their business there.

Anyway, my brain is finally starting to feel less jet-lagged. Maybe it's the acupuncture! I'm hoping to share some stories from my trip soon!

  3. OH SO HAPPY you liked it...I swear it's better than getting weekly massages. I loved it and I really think it helped me stay relatively sane throughout the whole IVF process. My husband says it's the best money he's ever spent and I have been "easy" to deal with during this process.

    Hope you keep it up!
